Mary Sumner House, Westminster | Planning Submission
14 February 2020

GRID have just submitted Mary Sumner House, Westminster, for planning.

Mary Sumner House was designed as a Head Quarters to serve Mother’s Union’s international obligation and services and reflects their specific requirements. The building has been robust enough to accommodate change through the intervening years. While some of the original spaces have retained their uses, others have been modified into general office accommodation.

This proposal will bring forward a reappraisal of the spaces and functions of the building, together with the much needed maintenance and replacement of services and finishes. All proposals retain Mothers’ Union as the key tenant in their own building but with added flexibility and efficiency. They will also establish accessibility for all, better environmental conditions and usable spaces that reflect current work methods.
